When deciding on the best parks for toddlers in Ottawa, it can be easy to simply find the largest or closet to your house. But did you know that a healthy selection of parks throughout the city has a hidden gem? They are homes to either Splash Pads or Wadding pools.

We have decided to visit a different splash pad or wadding pool each week in hopes of finding the best, as well as playing in the local park to get a full feeling of the neighborhoods amenities. Take a look at the list below and see which park is closest to you.

City of Ottawa Splash Pad Hours of Operation

According to the city website, splash pads generally have the water turned on between 9 AM and 9 PM. Splash pads are open every day during the season.

Wadding Pools in Ottawa

A wadding pool isn’t the same as a swimming pool. Nor is it similar to a Splash Pad. A wadding pool is a shallow artificial pool for children to paddle in. This is great for smaller children and non-swimmers.

There are over 50 Wadding Pools throughout the city of Ottawa. They are typically open from noon – 5, though this does fluctuate from day to day. They are also closed once or twice per week, check Ottawa.ca for the schedules.
